Welcome!

I am Professor and Chair of the Political Science Department at the University of Pittsburgh. Previously, I was the Director of the European Studies Center (ESC), which is a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence and a National Resource Center for European Studies. I am also a past Co-Editor of JEPOP (the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties) and Research & Politics.

My research and teaching focus on European politics, political party behavior and party competition. I am particularly interested in the behavior of small parties and how parties respond to, and interact with, voters and other parties and how voters respond to parties.
